Some of my fondest childhood memories involve looking out the kitchen window and seeing my grandmother, who lived next door, picking a giant bouquet of cheerful daffodils. I knew they were for me. I can still picture her walking across the yard with those bright yellow blooms in her hands. It felt like she was bringing me a handful of sunshine.

My grandmother taught me to love growing flowers, and that love has stayed with me ever since. After years as a teacher and social worker, I started Kate Day Blooms in 2023. What began as a flower farm is becoming something more.

Nature has always been where I feel most at peace. When people visit the farm, my hope is that they slow down, reconnect with nature, simply breathe, and remember a sense of wonder. Whether they're wandering through the flowers, watching butterflies and honeybees, admiring the mountains as they glow in the evening light, or simply spending time with the people they love, I hope they leave feeling just a little lighter than when they arrived.
